HOW A NATION THAT ABANDONS GOD INVITES INFILTRATION—How America’s Constitution Was Rewritten by Those Who Do Not Fear God

I used to think America’s downfall was just the result of increasingly aggressive evil forces and the nation turning its back on God — leading to a rise in greed, especially among those in power. But I overlooked a far deeper truth: America was not merely overwhelmed by external chaos and moral failure. There was also a deeper issue: even with a Constitution designed to restrain sin and protect the people, the nation still crumbled. Why? Because those very safeguards were dismantled. The Constitution, grounded in biblical principles, was deliberately modified — allowing evil to march in through legal doors that were once shut tight. The problem wasn’t just rebellion against God — it was rebellion codified into law by leaders who no longer feared Him. That is how evil walked in — not just through chaos, but through calculated legal perversion. Once the Constitution falls into the hands of those who do not fear God, the laws that once upheld righteousness begin to work against truth, freedom, and even the American people themselves.

Smith–Mundt Act: From Firewall to Trojan Horse

The Smith–Mundt Act of 1948 was originally designed to prohibit the U.S. government from directing its overseas propaganda at its own citizens. This law was a critical safeguard, a constitutional firewall that ensured Americans would not be targets of their own government’s messaging apparatus.

But in 2013, under the National Defense Authorization Act, this firewall was quietly dismantled. The Smith–Mundt Modernization Act made it legally permissible for U.S. government-created media — such as Voice of America (VOA) — to be disseminated within the United States.

The result?

VOA, once meant to counter totalitarian regimes abroad, became a tool manipulated by the very forces it once opposed.

In 2017, the live broadcast of an interview with Chinese dissident Miles Guo was abruptly cut off, and multiple journalists were suspended — reportedly under pressure from pro-CCP influence.

The 2017 shutdown of the live interview with Chinese dissident Miles Guo was a watershed moment that exposed how deeply VOA had come under CCP influence. But this exposure was not the beginning — it was simply the moment the mask slipped. In reality, the CCP’s infiltration of VOA had been in motion for decades, long before the incident. What changed in the past 10 to 15 years, especially after the Smith–Mundt Act was modified, was how much easier it became for the CCP to embed and operate within these U.S.-funded institutions under legal and bureaucratic cover. Since then, VOA’s Chinese service has increasingly adopted CCP-friendly rhetoric, softening language on topics like the Uyghur genocide or the crackdown on Hong Kong.

But this is just the surface.

The Real Impact of the Smith–Mundt Modification: Institutional Infiltration

According to researcher Mike Benz, the Smith–Mundt modification did far more than just permit domestic propaganda. It opened the legal gates for a sweeping internal operation:

Infiltration and co-option of universities, unions, media, politicians, and judges.

  • America’s top universities — especially Harvard and other Ivy League schools — have become heavily compromised by foreign influence, particularly from the CCP. Not only have Confucius Institutes long served as Trojan horses for ideological control, but Chinese state-linked funding and pro-CCP academic forums have gained direct access. These schools now tolerate mass anti-Semitic unrest while silencing dissent against totalitarian regimes.
  • The labor union system in the U.S. is likewise deeply entangled with foreign-aligned ideologies. What once was a movement to protect workers has in many cases become a pipeline for political indoctrination and globalist leverage.
  • The media, long seen as the “Fourth Estate,” is now riddled with narratives indistinguishable from foreign propaganda. Political figures, especially those in deep blue strongholds, echo CCP-talking points or enable policies favorable to America’s adversaries.
  • Judges and prosecutors, increasingly ideological and unaccountable, have become the enforcement wing of a politicized legal system. One prominent example is the case of Obergefell v. Hodges, where five unelected justices imposed same-sex marriage nationwide, overriding the constitutional amendments of dozens of states. Another is the widespread use of activist judges who block executive actions not based on legal merit, but on political alignment — such as federal courts halting immigration restrictions or parental rights bills passed by elected legislatures. These are not neutral arbiters of the law; they have become gatekeepers of a godless agenda. Many are activists in robes — tools, not protectors, of the law.
  • A dual-use structure where foreign policy organizations (like USAID and the State Department) could fund organizations abroad, which then operate domestically under foreign grant authority.
  • Covert support for prosecutors and legal operators who implement ideological objectives internally.
  • Social media censorship programs that collaborate with foreign governments to bypass domestic free speech protections and shut down dissent.

These were tools originally intended for overseas psychological operations — disinformation, persuasion, narrative control. But now, they operate on American soil. The machinery of foreign influence is legally redirected inward. And the American people are paying for it.

This wasn’t a malfunction. It was an engineered inversion: a constitutional firewall flipped into a national control grid — made possible by legislative amendments like the Smith–Mundt Modernization Act, bureaucratic reinterpretations from agencies like the State Department and USAID, and legal cover provided by judicial complicity. What once protected Americans from their own government’s propaganda became the very channel through which foreign narratives, censorship protocols, and institutional capture were funneled directly into the heart of our republic.

The Patriot Act: From National Defense to Domestic Exposure

After 9/11, the United States passed the Patriot Act in 2001 with bipartisan support as an urgent national security measure. The goal was clear: to prevent future terrorist attacks by expanding the government’s surveillance capabilities, particularly for tracking foreign threats.

It allowed for roving wiretaps, secret court orders, bulk collection of phone and internet metadata, and broader access to financial and communication records. These powers were unprecedented but justified as temporary tools to counter foreign terror.

From External Shield to Internal Net

However, over time, many of these powers were turned inward. The line between foreign surveillance and domestic monitoring began to blur. American citizens found themselves under increasing scrutiny, often without clear oversight or probable cause.

Then, in a stunning reversal, the key provision of the Patriot Act that allowed surveillance of foreign actors was allowed to expire in 2020. But instead of narrowing domestic surveillance as well, the opposite occurred: the powerful surveillance tools originally authorized to track foreign terrorists were not dismantled but instead redirected at the American people.

Firewall Flipped: Surveillance Turned Inward

In effect, a law created to protect Americans from foreign threats was stripped of its foreign-targeting capacity — while its internal surveillance powers remained intact and grew more deeply embedded in domestic agencies. America defunded the external defense but preserved and expanded the mechanisms of internal control.

This is not a technical oversight — it is a deliberate inversion. A tool meant to shield citizens from foreign enemies has been legally modified to monitor those very citizens, while the threats it was built to confront are increasingly ignored.

Like Smith–Mundt, the Patriot Act became another constitutional firewall inverted: passed to protect Americans, now repurposed to control them. And once again, this reversal was made possible not just by legislation, but by those in power who no longer feared God, no longer honored the limits of power, and no longer upheld truth as sacred.

When Protection Becomes Oppression

This is what happens when national security becomes national submission, and when law without God becomes surveillance without justice.

Johnson Amendment: Silencing the Pulpit

Another example: the 1954 Johnson Amendment, which prohibits churches with 501(c)(3) status from endorsing or opposing political candidates.

This provision was used to muzzle the Church for decades — intimidating pastors from speaking out on moral and political issues during elections. Even though the First Amendment guarantees free speech and religious freedom, this IRS regulation became a tool for bureaucratic censorship.

And this didn’t happen in a godless dictatorship — it happened in a nation whose very founding creed was “One Nation Under God.” Yet in that very nation, the visible, earthly expression of God’s kingdom — the Church — was systemically silenced. The very ones who should have been the loudest voice against tyranny and moral decay were told to sit down and stay quiet, or else lose their legal status. In effect, America used its own tax system to gag God’s people.

This is not just a political tragedy — it is a spiritual betrayal. The Church is not merely a social institution; it is the embassy of heaven on earth. To silence her is to silence the witness of God’s truth, justice, and mercy in a darkened world. And when the kingdom of God is told it cannot speak within the nation that once declared itself under God, we are no longer looking at a constitutional issue alone — we are looking at open rebellion against the King of kings.

Equal Protection Perverted: The Transgender Legal Agenda

This next example further illustrates how godless leadership has hijacked constitutional language to advance agendas fundamentally opposed to divine design. Just as propaganda and marriage have been redefined, so too has the very nature of humanity — male and female — been distorted under the guise of equal protection. (LGBTQIA+ Expansion)

Alongside the Obergefell decision, another more insidious form of constitutional subversion has emerged — the twisting of the Fourteenth Amendment.

In the name of protecting “sexual and gender minorities,” a vast new legal category has emerged — often referred to as LGBTQIA+ — and courts have stretched the Equal Protection Clause to cover not just individuals, but entire ideologies. This expansion, while presented as compassion, has become a constitutional shield for rebellion against God’s design for humanity.

to legalize and normalize radical gender ideology.

Originally intended to ensure equal protection for freed slaves, the Equal Protection Clause has been reinterpreted to protect behaviors and ideologies that stand in direct contradiction to God’s created order. Under this new legal framework, the so-called “rights” of self-declared gender identity now trump biological reality, parental authority, and divine design.

We now see:

  • Minors being encouraged — even secretly — to pursue gender transition treatments at schools and clinics without parental consent.
  • Parents who object risk losing custody of their children.
  • Teachers and students being forced to use false pronouns, under threat of professional or academic punishment.
  • Laws passed that protect these practices, framing dissent as “hate” and righteousness as discrimination.
  • Biological female athletes routinely defeated by biological males identifying as women — real women’s sports face extinction.
  • Sexual assault rates increasing due to male offenders claiming female identity — resulting in rising cases of biological men assaulting real women under false legal cover.

This is not civil rights — it is moral rebellion wrapped in legal language. It is not inclusion — it is the forced redefinition of truth.

And it all stems from a godless reinterpretation of constitutional language. Just as marriage was redefined without the people’s vote, so too now is manhood and womanhood being erased without accountability — all while those who speak biblical truth are silenced or punished.

Obergefell and Judicial Tyranny: Redefining Marriage by Fiat

In 2015, the Supreme Court decided Obergefell v. Hodges, legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. This wasn’t done through constitutional amendment, but through reinterpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment.

Dozens of states had already passed constitutional amendments affirming marriage as the union of one man and one woman. All of them were overridden.

The law wasn’t changed by the people. It was rewritten by five unelected justices. And those who refused to affirm the new orthodoxy faced lawsuits, firings, and public condemnation.

A Pattern Emerges: Law Without God Becomes a Weapon

  • The pattern is now undeniable:
  • Smith–Mundt was modified to turn propaganda inward.
  • The Patriot Act, originally passed to protect Americans from terrorism, was later selectively dismantled—retaining expanded domestic surveillance powers while removing key foreign intelligence safeguards. What was meant to protect the nation from foreign threats now empowers unchecked monitoring of its own people.
  • The Johnson Amendment keeps churches silent.
  • The LGBTQIA+ legal expansion twisted the Equal Protection Clause into a shield for rebellion against God’s created order—erasing biological reality, dismantling parental authority, and criminalizing truth under the guise of inclusion.
  • Obergefell used judicial fiat to redefine God’s design.

The Constitution, while still in place on paper, has been systematically reinterpreted and repurposed by people who do not fear God — and this reinterpretation follows a chilling pattern: each major example (Smith–Mundt, the Patriot Act, the Johnson Amendment, Obergefell, and the LGBTQIA+ legal expansion) reflects the same underlying principle: removing divine authority as the basis for law, and replacing it with humanistic, ideological control. Once God’s truth is cast out of legal interpretation, the Constitution is no longer a shield against tyranny, but a tool for it. And so, it now works against the very people it was meant to protect.

The Chain of Defilement

America abandoned God → God lifted His protection → The Constitution fell into godless hands → Its protections were redefined → Evil became legal, and truth became hate.

This is why we now see foreign propaganda on American airwaves.

This is why judges legislate from the bench.

This is why churches are afraid to speak.

This is why activist institutions feel untouchable.

This is why constitutional language is now used to erase the distinction between male and female.

This is why children are encouraged to mutilate their bodies in secret.

This is why real women are being erased — in sports, in law, and in safety.

This is why laws originally passed to protect Americans — like the Smith–Mundt Act and the Patriot Act — have been inverted to control them instead.

It is not just the rise of evil.

It is that the safeguards — once written to restrain evil — have been deliberately and insidiously inverted by those who do not fear God, by the very forces that seek to undermine America’s divine foundations. The Constitution wasn’t merely reinterpreted — it was hijacked by godless powers who twisted its protections into tools of control. This is how safeguards became snares, and liberty gave way to bondage.

Return and Restore

America cannot be restored politically without first returning spiritually. But repentance alone must lead to action:

  • Discernment — to see who is holding the keys of power;
  • Restoration — to place those keys back in the hands of those who fear God;
  • Resistance — to stand against the misusers of truth in every institution.

Only those who fear God are worthy to modify law.

Only those who revere truth are qualified to steward freedom.

Because without God, even the best law becomes a sword in the hands of the wicked.

And so we end where the problem began: in the human heart — the place where reverence for God must begin, and from which righteous leadership and just law must flow.
